What can I do if my Steam voice chat is not working?

I have fought with Steam Voice several times. Here are some tips that are hopefully helpful in your struggle for Voice.

For absolute basics, check the following:

• Do you have a microphone?
• Is it connected to the computer?
• Does the computer recognize it?
• Is the microphone turned on?
• Have you started the voice chat?

Basics:

• Does Steam recognize your microphone?
  • Go to Steam browser → Steam drop-down menu→ Settings → Voice. Is the recording (audio input) device set to the correct microphone? If not, go and find the correct microphone.
    • You could click Detect Audio Devices and see if it works now.
  • Click Test Microphone. If you hear your voice, it should be working. Ajuste o microfone e receba o volume para encontrar um bom equilíbrio.<
