What are the best addictive pc games ever?
Hard to pick one. So here are some. Some are on non-PC computer platforms.
- X-Com: UFO defense (the original Xcom) as well as it’s more recent reboot, Xcom: Enemy Unknown and Xcom 2 and their more expansions
- Jagged Alliance 2
- Wizardry on the Apple II
- Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge (I played on a Mac). Messed my college years up; I’d play all night then sleep all day, and people had to wake me up for dinner
- Harpoon (I also played this on Mac) Loved this game so much I actually subscribed to the Naval Institute Proceedings journal to improve my strategy and learn
- Ultima IV on Apple II
- Baldur’s Gate II with Throne of Baal expansion
- Planescape: Torment
- Diablo II
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
- Master of Orion II
- Master of Magic (even though very buggy)
- The original Doom
- Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas
- Divinity: Original Sin 2
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
- The original Wasteland
- Borderlands 2 (I played mainly on Xbox, but avail on PC and have played some there)
- Titan Quest and the Immortal Throne expansion
- Star Control II
- Silent Storm and sequel
- System Shock 1
- Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. (Played on Xbox but avail on PC)
- One of the original Might & Magics, I think number 2
- Freedom Force and sequel
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
