Qual deles está correto: 'a aula vai começar' ou 'a aula vai ser iniciada'?

O verbo start não é normalmente algo que se faz com outra coisa, embora possa ser usado de tal forma.

Aqui estão exemplos que são mais parecidos com o primeiro que você menciona: A aula vai começar (o que honestamente me soa mais natural)

• O vento começa a soprar.
• As ondas começam a ficar mais ferozes.
• A máquina começa a sobreaquecer.

It would however be strange to try and say this in the passive form using the thing being affected as the subject as you do in your second version “class will be started”

• I would tremble in disgust if someone were to say:
• The computer was started.
• The car is started early every morning to melt the ice.
• The class will be started at 17:00.

Such phrasing is not by any means wrong, but it sounds just awful.
