How to install Microsoft Office for free on my Chromebook

Chromebooks are designed to be secure. This is why only Chrome Web Store and Google Play Store apps can be installed.

You will be able to install the following MS apps from Google Play Store:

1. Word
2. Excel
3. Powerpoint
4. Outlook
5. OneDrive
6. OneNote
7. Skype

The other option is to use the online version of MS Office via office.com. Note that they are somewhat crippled and limited though compared to the PC versions

Chromebooks work well within the Google ecosystem and applications that are available online. Consider using Google Suite.

1. Docs - Full featured word processor
2. Sheets - Powerful spread sheet which includes the critical functions such as VLookup, Pivot Tables, Lookup (Google Sheets equivalent of XLookup) and much much more
3. Slides - Presentation app
4. Drawings - Graphics app
5. Drive - Google’s equivalent of OneDrive
6. Forms - Only limited by ones imagination
